CASTLEVANIA: Curse of Darkness is set
in the 1479. According to what I understood it happens three years after
CASTLEVANIA III: Dracula's Curse.
In this game, the main character's name is
Hector. One of the two Devil Forgemasters who met the skills that Dracula
needs for his plans. Eventually, he feels disgusted with his master's brutal
methods when accomplishing his plans; so he decides to abandon the forgery, in order to have a
normal life among humans. he departs from Vallachia to his home town,
there he meets
Rosaly, the one he claims to love. During this time, Trevor Belmont destroys
Dracula. As a consequence, a curse was brought upon all territories of
Europe.
Later we meet Isaac, the second forgemaster
and also a friend of Hector. He is pretty affected when Hector left the
castle, and blames him for everything. Because of hector's betrayal Isaac, As a revenge, implies his
friend's love in a witch trial, where she was burnt to death. He lets Hector
know that everything was his own doing.
Seeking revenge, Hector starts his path
towards the Castle, which is now controlled by dark magic. Once in there,
his main goal is to hunter his now former enemy. Inside the castle.

The main character of the game. He's is a
refined forgemaster that uses the forbidden art of Devil's forgery,
using his powers to manipulate magic and life. At some point, he
disagrees with Dracula's Ideals. So, regretting his own natural
skill, he fled Vallachia to his home town, looking for a new life
without worries.
During his
journey, Isaac attacks him; Even thought, Hector was
weak and willing to die by nature, he couldn't let himself get beaten by
Isaac. So, he fought back and defeated him without much effort.
One morning, he was found
nearly dead by Rosaly,
a cheerful girl who taught him the importance of life. Hector fell in
love with her, but the shadow of malice reached him when his beloved was
accused of witchcraft. Later on the trial, she was hanged and burnt to
death.
Knowing who
was behind that atrocity, he followed his enemy to get his head. Thus,
he leaded back to the castle seeking for revenge.
Little he knew
about Death's plans trough Isaac. Unconsciously,
he followed the devil's plan regaining his forge abilities again,
enhancing his strength too. Later he was taught that Zead wanted him to
be the new vessel for Dracula, but first he had to let the curse to take
control of him (by killing Isaac). Nevertheless, he realized the
evil plot just on time.
He refused to
kill Isaac, because at the very end, he accepted that Isaac's madness
was a consequence of Dracula's curse.
|

The antagonist of the game. He
was a disciple and a friend of Hector, both shared the diligences of
their Count as Master and partner. He admires Hector and his
natural forgemaster ability.
One day when he realizes Hector fled the castle, he feels
disappointed, and swears to Dracula that he will bring Hector back, if
not alive, his head. This way he followed Hector until he found him in
the edge of death. First he tried to persuade Hector, but failed. Feeling
betrayed he decides to take his friends life. They fight, but Hector wins, turning his back to him.
Isaac could not resist the indifference and swears he will revenge
sooner than expected.
Later, back on the Castle, he
learnt that Trevor Belmont slew
Dracula. This notice and the curse already released upon the area drove
him to madness. Making him blame hector for everything.
Once again, he abandoned the castle, and went where Hector was. There,
he manipulated the town to put them against Rosaly (Hector's love).
Until she was sentenced to death. He let Hector know he was behind all
that, moreover, he would be waiting in the castle for the true battle.
The second time they fight,
Isaac loses. He waits for death, but this
didn't come. He was forgiven somehow, but to his misfortune, Zead appears on
scene, and kills him, offering his body as a vessel for Count Dracula.
After Dracula is killed, his
spirit returns to the abysm and Isaac recovers his body, and even
thought he was still alive, he was left behind by his Sister Julia and
friend Hector since he could not be strong enough to face the new life
ahead or his madness.
|

Before everything ... Is he the
illegitimate son of Sonia Belmont and Alucard? O.o
Ahh, another classical and
respectful character of CASTLEVANIA. "A
Belmont". He was the one who killed Dracula,
and probably the responsible for Isaac madness (j/k) He appears in the
castle looking for the Devil forgemasters; actually he is following
Isaac,
Trevor distrust Hector for
being a forgemaster. But later he starts to believe in him after
noticing some details during the game. Nevertheless, he asks Hector not
to interfere with his battle, but because some events,
They become allies and trevor helps him to enter to the secret chamber
(by his blood).
He decides to wait there for
hector, unfortunately, he is seriously injured by Isaac. So, he merely
managed to live by Julia's help.
|

Julia LaForenze, the sister of Isaac. In the beginning, she was suspicious of Hector, but
later during the game she changes her mind and asks him to put an end
to his brother madness. In first instance Hector refuses, but she claims
that he is the only one who can do it, since isaac admires him a lot,
they were also friends and she couldn't stand if Trevor or other guy
ends up with his brother's life... So, Once that Hector accepts, she
starts helping him a lot during the game.
Before Hector enters Dracula's true Castle, she appears before him,
and advices him to control himself until the very end, in order to
prevent the curse on him. This way she prays for Hector's life.
Once the final fight is over, she felts the curse disappearing,
then, she transports towards Dracula's
Chamber and meets with Hector along with his brother who is unconscious
on the floor.
In the end, she rescues Hector, and
they fled together out of the castle,
leaving Isaac behind since he could not handle the pain once he
wakes up. She invites Hector to stay
with her, and hope together for a peaceful life... //isn't she sweet? *bitch*//

小島 文美
Kojima Ayami, the official
illustrator of Konami CASTLEVANIA series. Her works are
pretty famous among those who likes gothic stuff.
Her art is rather recognized
because of those gorgeous angels and vampires with a slightly
touch of disturbance. I've put some samples of her works in the illustration
section.
BTW, if you happen to know
if she has a book that compiles her works, let me know as soon as
possible. I would love to grab a copy of that piece of black gold.
I found at eBay the mini
Manga/Art-book from Symphony of the Night; of course you have to be
willing to pay over 60 bucks, but it worth's the cash!!
There's no doubt she is
good; She even taught herself how to draw. Indeed, She was blessed by Hyne...

As a personal opinion, CASTLEVANIA Series is
one of the perfect games I've ever played [As well as Final fantasy, Kingdom
Hearts, Devil may Cry]. It combines the best art-works,
music, plot and gameplay, besides those extra characters you can play with.
I really can't tell if someone asks me why do I like this game? I simply love
it to the point that I've decided to make this shrine for this new obZeXion
of mine... BUT, let's not forget that I am a Yaoi-girl. After noticing
Isaac I just fell for him, as simple as it comes. *smiles*
Here're some {maybe}
pointless questions; if someone knows the answer please let me know.
- Is Trevor Belmont the son of
Sonia and Alucard?
... and notes, just to express a
bit.
Favorite:
- Character: Isaac
- Weapon: Chauve-Souris
- Innocent Devil: The End
- Song: Eneomaos Machine Tower,
Baljhet Mountains
- Stage: Aiolon Ruins, Endless
Corridor
- AMV: The reasons Julia said
when she begged Hector to kill her brother.
- Line: The way Isaac said "bravo",
either in Japanese or English voice.
- Boss: Legion, I really like to
kill those corpses.
- Chair: Dracula's of course.
- Playing as Trevor, nice nice.
Didn't like:
- Those damn Flea men in the
evermore Tower, thy killed me twice stoopid me.
- I couldn't steal death's pulse
>.<
- Pumpkin ID, I couldn't get it,
need those damn miracle eggs.
